It looks like it is going to be one of those 'radical Islam is not true Islam, unite with the US to fight the fake Muslims' things. Well surely not even Trump can screw up that well known script.

too bad that well known script is a lie.

Valmy

Perhaps but it makes the Saudis feel better.

Pretty much every well-known script is a lie.

Trump: No politician 'has been treated worse or more unfairly'

Like so many of his other pathologies, his victimization complex is boundless.

Yeah for sure. He's getting the best speech writer ever for it:

Stephen Miller Is Writing the Big Speech on Islam That Trump Is Delivering in Saudi Arabia. Stephen Miller who started an "Islamofascism Awareness week at Duke University" and one of the main authors of Trump's (failed) anti-Muslim ban.

The bigger question is will, the King...the Top, greet him at the airport?  :P

Was reading today that the entire West Wing senior staff--such as it is--will all be going on the trip.  Can't be left behind;  outta sight, outta mind.

Back on topic, this is what the Trump presidency looks like:

That does seem to be the pattern. These four months have been crazy.

QuoteRead the things that these people, members of his inner circle, his personally selected appointees, say daily through anonymous quotations to the press. (And I assure you they say worse off the record.) They have no respect for him, indeed they seem to palpitate with contempt for him, and to regard their mission as equivalent to being stewards for a syphilitic emperor.

It is funny in a sad way to see my 11 year old son taking on the cynical air of a Languishista over this continuing shit show south of the border. Every time the news comes on, he's all 'what new stupidity has that idiot committed today?' He's rarely disappointed.

What concerns me is the actual loss of prestige and influence America is suffering as a result of this crap. Of course the country is a powerful as it ever was. The sense that, whatever foolishness US politicians may spout, the country is basically a major source of stability and a positive influence in an uncertain world is really taking a beating, though - or at least, so it appears. I've no actual hard evidence to back that up.
