France should order a recall on the Statue of Liberty.

New Rule:
While the sting of defeat are still fresh and the horrors resulting of that loss pile up, liberals must examine all the reason why we keep losing elections.
Starting with the fact that democrats have gone from the party that protects people, to the party who protects feelings.
From "ask not what your country can do for you" to "you owe me an apology".
Republicans apologize for nothing, democrats for everything. Can we not find a balance?
In 2016 conservatives won the White House, both houses of congress, and almost 2/3 of governorships and state legislature.
Where as liberals on the other hand caught Steve Martin calling Carrie Fisher beautiful in a Tweet and made him take it down...
Liberals do this all the time, they get offended for people who themselves would not get offended. You know the controversy over the name Washington Redskins? They did a survey and 9/10 actually Indians don't give a shit. And why would they, their ancestors learned first hand that New England Patriots cheat...

Cultural appropriation is the idea that white people shouldn't adopt things from other ethnic groups. How dare you mix and match culture to produce something new. Where do you think you are some sort of melting pot?

The majority of Americans are with the democrats on the issues: raising minimum wage, sensible gun laws, path to citizenship, abortion rights, pro environment, but we keep losing. There are a lot of reasons for that, but the one we can immediately fix, is that too often democrats remind people of a man who has taken his balls out and put them in his wife's purse.

Someone please Tweet me right now about how that was inappropriate so I can tell you to fuck yourself...

People feeling bad is not all that matters.
What matters is that while you self involved fools were policing language at the kids choice awards, a madman talked his way into the White House.
What matters is that while liberals were in a contest to be the first to call out fat shaming, the tea party has been busy taking over school boards.

To be fair, when the US dedicated the Statue of Liberty the Chinese Exclusion Act was in place. The "tired", "weak", and "huddled masses" were implicitly white people from judeo christian backgrounds.
They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety.

There's a fine line between salvation and drinking poison in the jungle.

I'm embarrassed. I've been making the mistake of associating with you. It won't happen again. :)

sounds like just another rant from an old white guy

Sounds like just another guy trying to tie his own particular axe to grind to the Trump election.

I'd put the Democrats' woes even more succinctly than Bill: too much focus on "progressive" notions of social equality, not enough focus on economic equality.

I wouldn't say too much focus on notions of social equality. that kinda seems like projection. but, it's true the democratic party leaders forgot about the average american worker. they hoisted a candidate who's all pro-corporation. and while that's a noble agenda, it just didn't fly with key voters

Yeah, progressive overreach didn't help--especially when so much of this country still hates cunts, niggers and spics.

But hey, let's not point out what won it, let's point out what lost it.

I'm only going on what he posted, he may be wrong?

Incidentally I'm not sure if he's British Muslim or from one of the Iraqi minority faiths be that Christian, Jew etc.

I'll look him up on wiki, from what I've seen of him on TV/parliament he's a well spoken man, I suspect almost exclusively privately educated.

edit:

Iraqi Kurdish family background who fled Iraq in 1976, when he was nine years old.

I was right about his educational background, so sounds, is and acts as British as anyone else here.

Yeah I saw that item the other day.

I was just making the point he's way more British establishment than I'll ever been, also better educated, spoken and connected.  :bowler:
