So there's all this stuff from trump not understanding tariffs. And given he presents as being anti China....
I wonder why there's no attacks on the universal postal union from him. Or have i missed it?
From what I understand this is a key way Chinese tat manages to undercut Western business, taking advantage of the favourable postal rates for being a developing country.

Not something I've looked into too deeply so curious to know if there's reasons why it's an awful idea ...
But from the little I've heard stopping China  getting these favourable postage rates does sound like a pretty sensible move. They're exploiting a system setup for totally different purposes and can no longer really be classed as undeveloped.

I think this issue has been reduced significantly because of the going fallout from the pandemic and the huge increasing in marine cargo shipping rates, air freight cost also went and so it got a lot more expensive to airmail tat around the world.

Looking on ebay there seems to be far less stuff going for a song shipped from China. Maybe China state also stopped subsidising air freight?? (That's just a wild guess on my part)

Yes, I think this is just a sign of how out of touch am I, I've never been on those platform so clearly the cheapjack ebay sellers have just migrated over to those rather than give up.

I wish people were more subtle about "President Musk" stuff.  I'm sure someone like Trump can get the idea that Musk may be undermining him without smashing him in the face with it.  In fact, making it so transparent can backfire, and make Trump think that the left wants him to think that Musk is trying to undermine him.

It's hilarious how the people that are free speech advocates are selective of when their free speech ideology should apply.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with referring to Musk as President Musk.  This has got to be the weakest argument for self censorship I have ever read.

If it is intolerably PC to object to the label "illegal" being applied to a class of people who are following federal law, then I confess guilt.  Especially when so many using that label are offended when someone questions their judgment casting their vote for a genuine convicted felon.
