Don't know about conspiracy, but decapitating the DoD leadership and replacing them with numnuts is a pretty stupid and dangerous thing to do under any circumstances

Whatever it is, this is definitely fulfilling my fear of what Trump's lame duck period would be about.  He's capable of going Jim Jones on the whole country.

What will save us here in the USA is the combination of Trump's laziness and his incompetence.  They will come up with a great plan to sabotage the country as a lame duck president in April.

I think this is dangerously optimistic.  Even if Trump doesn't attempt or succeed at a coup, having a nuclear superpower being led for two more months by someone who intends to burn the place down is not a situation to be blasé about.  We really can be in a Jim Jones situation.

You can ask that question about anything politics related.  For that matter, what can one soldier do on the battlefield?  The answer is, probably nothing decisive, but that doesn't mean that one should abandon their duty.  When everyone does their duty, collectively a difference can be made. 

As a citizen of a democratic country, surely one of your more basic duties is to not go "meh, lol" when someone tries to pull off a coup of some kind.
