My stimulus check went into the account that my 2018 taxes went to, not the account that my 2019 taxes went into. :)

That's an interesting glitch, but if you read back, I didn't say which account it would go to.  Just whether you got direct deposit or not.

My point is that you keep saying that whatever is given is based on the most recent tax return. That is not necessarily true. The amount and how one receives it can be entirely on one's 2018 tax return status and information.

The last couple of years have been really tough for The Onion.  :(

 Their competition has stepped up his game. :(

Indeed, as the White House Gift Shop prepares to sell commemorative coins celebrating The Covid-19 Task Force against the UNSEEN ENEMY.

Just to point out the possibly-not-obvious-to-some, the "White House Gift Shop" selling those coins is not affiliated with the White House in any way.
The medievals were only too right in taking nolo episcopari as the best reason a man could give to others for making him a bishop. Give me a king whose chief interest in life is stamps, railways, or race-horses; and who has the power to sack his Vizier (or whatever you care to call him) if he does not like the cut of his trousers.

Government is an abstract noun meaning the art and process of governing and it should be an offence to write it with a capital G or so as to refer to people.

No, they are not - with the exception of holding exclusive rights to the name (which they clearly use to confuse the public). The more dignified gift shop is that of the White House Historical Association.

I said that before because that's what I read.  What you responded to just now was on another topic.  I don't keep saying it because saying it once is not keeping on.

Also based on what I've read if the amount you received was based on 18 income and you would have gotten less if they had used 19 income, you will have to pay back the excess next time you file.

I read somewhere there is a problem with your stimulus checks.  Because of the way your taxes are filed, the stimulis went to your accounting firms who were supposed to transfer you the money.

It seems a messy way to do things.

This story I think.
Yes, that's the one.  Might not have been Atlanta in the one I read, but it's the same problem.

Well I'm still waiting for a paper check. Not alone in that apparently. I think putting Donalds name on it may have delayed it a few days.
Things are so simple in Canada.

My bank offered me to confirm to Canada Revenue Agency my bank info online.  I did it.  Then I claimed my "stimulus" payment (Canada Emergency Response Benefit).  They sent me 3000$ by mail.

Now I try to claim it for this mount, they say I must file it with their employement insurance benefits since I asked it there the first time.  So I went there, filed my declaration, indicated my bank info had changed since they did not deposit my money the first time.  Then they tell me I need to call them and press 0 after dialing their number to speak to an agent.  I tried.  I waited at least 10 minutes through a bunch of unskippable automated messages totally irrelevant to my situation to speak to an agent.  Then I'm told they can't transfer my call to an agent because the volume of calls is too big.  I'm asked to call back later...

See, do it the Canada way.  So simple... ;)

Not even The Onion could have thought of that...  :yucky:
