I think it is a sad historical mistake that the UK is leaving the EU today. Britain and Europe will be weaker, there is no tangible benefit to Brexit. I bet even immigration will not lessen much as globalization is an unstoppable historical force. Britain and the EU share much more than what divides them, but sadly the focus in Britain was much more on the latter. This event should serve as a warning about the power and long-term corrosive effect of a relentless propaganda campaign.

Couldn't agree more.

I have two suggestions.

1. Don't let domestic politicians blame the EU for their own failings (even if it is your party).

2. Don't skimp on public education.

This is a sad day for me  :(

I still haven't voted in this poll. Is there still time?
Women want me. Men want to be with me.

This morning I saw on the BBC a short summary of what will change, covering topics like travel and healthcare abroad, pets, alcohol, mobile phones.

Basically all of them was "nothing is changing for now, but from next year maybe, we don't know".

I wonder if any of the 7 UK Leave voters are still around. And how they think about it now.

Age is still here.

Europe as depicted on euros excludes non EU places too.
Showing the UK transitioning to being one of these makes sense.

Got it. I guess I was totally wrong. The spirit of the stamp has nothing to do with the direction of ridicule at the UK or "good riddance to bad rubbish".

I'm embarrassed. I've been making the mistake of associating with you. It won't happen again. :)

So this is the day?  God help you all.
I've given it serious thought. I must scorn the ways of my family, and seek a Japanese woman to yield me my progeny. He shall live in the lands of the east, and be well tutored in his sacred trust to weave the best traditions of Japan and the Sacred South together, until such time as he (or, indeed his house, which will periodically require infusion of both Southern and Japanese bloodlines of note) can deliver to the South it's independence, either in this world or in space.  -Lettow April of 2011

The official exit day. The biggest change for everyone in the UK will probably occur at the end of the year when the transition period ends.

And a year of chaos it will be as the UK scrambles to negotiate trade deals to replace what it now has.

Can the UK extend the transition phase?
They can request that until 30th June per Withdrawal Agreement, but there is a domestic British law prohibiting it.

Now this is not the end. It is not even the beginning of the end. But it is, perhaps, the end of the beginning.
