Yeah, that's a clear own goal.  Plus, weird.

Progress.
We've gone from they're eating cats and dogs to the rather more normal ducks and geese. Before we know it it'll be a frozen chicken from the supermarket.

That's actually "goose" in the singular.

I've given it serious thought. I must scorn the ways of my family, and seek a Japanese woman to yield me my progeny. He shall live in the lands of the east, and be well tutored in his sacred trust to weave the best traditions of Japan and the Sacred South together, until such time as he (or, indeed his house, which will periodically require infusion of both Southern and Japanese bloodlines of note) can deliver to the South it's independence, either in this world or in space.  -Lettow April of 2011

The Minsky Moment

To the surprise of no sentient person, the whole thing was BS from the start.

QuoteThe viral picture of a man holding two geese on an Ohio street being used to fuel claims that migrants have been gobbling up pets was nothing more than a wild goose chase, according to a report.

The anonymous man who was snapped carrying the bodies of two birds earlier this week was removing them from the street after they were hit by a car, the Ohio Division of Wildlife confirmed to TMZ.

There is no evidence he was taking them home to eat or that he is a migrant, the agency said.

Also - per Raz reddit link, the photo was taken in Columbus not Springfield.

I don't do meditation.  I drink alcohol to relax, like normal people.

Yes, he did, and then, on a later Sunday talk show, lambasted the host for not interviewing the people in Springfield who had seen it!

In that host's place, I would have asked "are any of them in the room with us right now?"

God, I forgot just how crazy the Trumpers really are.

Yeah, but they also share boomer memes about how much cooler their youth was, or how how they are tolerant of other views, or about being old. Though my oldest sister has started posting disturbing images of her being de-aged/slimmed on model bodies (some app she discovered, I assume).  (Disturbing in the sense of you can tell it's her, but not, not in a sexual way you pervs :P )

Darth Wagtaros

A great many older people have turned themselves into a living speaker for whiny political memes. Online or off they can't seem to do more than recite whatever outrage porn had captivated them that day. They really don't like anyone trying to talk instead or changing the subject to something like the weather or work.

This is true.
It goes beyond the meme of the day too. You can usually detect it in their regular speech and the expressions they decide to use that weren't previously particularly common.
