It is far better for the truth to tear my flesh to pieces, then for my soul to wander through darkness in eternal damnation.

Jet: So what kind of woman is she? What's Julia like?
Faye: Ordinary. The kind of beautiful, dangerous ordinary that you just can't leave alone.
Jet: I see.
Faye: Like an angel from the underworld. Or a devil from Paradise.

So apparently my gf has never heard of John Cleese. This is very disturbing news.
Can I cut her some slack because she's American or should I run away?

I have dealt with brain dead Americans before, and there is some hope.  You need to explain, in simple terms, that she is an idiot and she should watch:  All the movies, TV shows, Python live performances, and You Tube interviews.  Then quiz her, a la "Diner" on the finer bits.

If she attempts to understand, there is hope.  If she doesn't get it then you are allowed to freeze her body and put it through a wood chipper.

Sounds like a plan.

My sister saw him yesterday, he seemed pretty lively. And of course he's touring again to raise money for various alimonies.

First time as an adult.
Much crack?

You're about six weeks too late. I'd have helped you out in person.  :P

You only there for the weekend?

I think it would be a good idea for her to avoid Fawlty Towers. <_<

I know that the US flag is supposed to be always hung "union left".

IE--always with the blue part on the mast or the left side if hung vertically.

My question is, if it's flown in distress, does it fly upside down flipped or rotated? The House of Cards logo has it rotated.

I found it very expensive. As a Londoner!

I suspect it's craic you're after, but I'm sure there's plenty of crack on offer too if you know the right people.

Maybe back then. It's jokes all struck me, in the 21st century, as lame and predictable.

I think for distress it is flown upside down.

Well, maybe some of it. But scenes like Basil beating his car with a branch and, of course, Ze Germans still crack me up.

Wouldn't it be quicker and more effective to dial 911 rather than taking the flag off and hanging it in a different way?

Cut her some slack. He has not done anything good for thirty years.
