1.18€/liter at my nearest pump. THANKS EUROPE.

Wait, I don't have a car since I can go everywhere I need using Mass Transit. THANKS EUROPE.

Seriously though, this is the cheapest it's been in ages.

Grey Fox

1.15$ a liter. Considering Quebec, especially Montreal, is excessively expansive for gas in NA, that's good.
Colonel Caliga is Awesome.

crazy canuck

I filled up this weekend at 1.08.  Our regional gas taxes take a big premium.

A listing for positions with the federal government (NIH and NIMH) with Kelly Services, the temp agency.  Back in the day, they were called "Kelly Girls".

Barrister

Wow - big discrepancy in gas prices between here and BC.
Posts here are my own private opinions.  I do not speak for my employer.

Well duh, in Alberta you can just boil some of your back yard to fill your tank.  Of course pump prices are going to be lower.

Funny, there's still not much temp work for the historian.

Anyway, I'm probably going to.  I'm getting pressure to for the stupidest reason--so I can get promoted and do the job that doesn't require bar membership, but be treated as FLSA exempt, EVEN THOUGH THAT'S NOT HOW THE FLSA WAS DESIGNED TO WORK.

You know, I hear the bar is one of those professional thingies that kinda goes along with law school.  Sorta like the way medical boards go with medical school.  I'm sure it might've been in the law school brochure, "Just 3 Years to Fabulous Riches!", but you should check it out anyway.

QuoteVast dog-fighting ring in Baltimore and Baltimore Co. broken up
By Justin George
The Baltimore Sun

Officers raided nearly 20 homes, compounds and other locations in Baltimore and Baltimore County this month, breaking up a vast dog-fighting ring that included more than 200 animals and 22 suspects, Baltimore police and prosecutors announced Monday.

The year-long investigation culminated in the indictment of 22 members of the ring, who operated at 15 Baltimore locations as well as two places in Baltimore County and a compound in West Virginia.

Fourteen suspects are in custody facing mostly felony charges that include dog-fighting conspiracy, aggravated cruelty related to dog-fighting, animal abuse and neglect. More than 225 dogs were rescued including 50 puppies, authorities said. Officers also seized 20 guns, heavy chains used to train the dogs, a crude treadmill specially made for dog-fighting training and plastic white sticks to pry open dogs' mouths once they have clamped onto an opponent.

"It's a cruel world," Baltimore police Lt. Sean Miller said. "The connectivity to violent crime and violence is apparent."

Thiru Vignarajah, Major Crimes Unit chief for the Baltimore City State's Attorney's Office, called the operation an "unforgiving underworld" where dogs were trained to fight for entertainment and financial gain. Purses at dogfights grew to $100,000 and higher, prosecutors say, and most of the suspects indicted have criminal records that include weapons charges, drug dealing and, in the case of one suspect, a past murder conviction.

Eighty-five dogs have been transferred to local shelters, and police are trying to determine their status' including how many will be put up for adoption or euthanized.

"Each and every dog is assessed individually by a professional," Baltimore police spokesman Lt. Eric Kowalczyk said. "Every effort is made to rehabilitate and place them for adoption. As a general rule, many dogs including all puppies and young dogs do end up in loving families as a result of their effort."
