dander or fur? there are breeds that have less dander. if its fur you can always get one of the freaky sphynx cats. or you know, a dog. they're like cats but better in everyway.

Uh not sure. I was allergic as a child and haven't had much physical contact with cats in years.

Childhood allergies can clear up, so you may be good. Go to your local SPCA and hold a cat. see what happens. if you have a major allergic reaction... uhm, sorry :D
