Several schools are now offering PhD in Law degrees.  While not that long ago most law professors only had a LL.M., not it seems you have to get a PhD as well.

But it does go to show how silly the J.D. degree is - how can it be a doctorate, if ultimate degree in law is ALSO a doctorate?
