The Coca Cola 600 is about to kick off up the street from me this evening...

Hmm, and it's not sold out...  :hmm:  Is it worth it?  Never been to a NASCAR race before.

To neighbor at top of lungs over the race noise: "Hi there, friend.  :) Don't you think all this fossil fuel consumption is just a tragedy for the ozone layer and global warming?  All this money could be much better used on compulsory health insurance and improving the teaching of evolution in public schools, don't you agree?"

Mainstream? Hardly.
Nobody has heard of it here. Back home its much the same
 Maybe it's different in Britain, but Cowboy Beebop is almost certainly the most well known anime in the United States by a fair margin. By definition it is the most mainstream.
It is far better for the truth to tear my flesh to pieces, then for my soul to wander through darkness in eternal damnation.

Jet: So what kind of woman is she? What's Julia like?
Faye: Ordinary. The kind of beautiful, dangerous ordinary that you just can't leave alone.
Jet: I see.
Faye: Like an angel from the underworld. Or a devil from Paradise.

Actually, my limited experience with NASCAR fans is they really don't give a shit if you don't bother their beer intake.

Remember, Earnhardt Sr. is god, Kyle Busch is a goddamned pussy who needs his ass kicked and Danica Patrick sucks. Have fun.  :)

Welp.  I went to the driving range for the first time in at least a year today, and seem to have developed a semi-regular slice that gets just NASTY as the distance increases.  Somewhere between 150 and 180 that thing takes a hard right and is just gone.  I should still go play as planned tomorrow during the peak time.  "You fuckers behind us can wait while I spend an hour looking for my ball in the woods over there."

On the plus side though, toward the end of the bucket when I was just tired of the shit and all pissy and bitchy etc, and so just lining it up and swinging, it got a lot better.  I actually hit the 185 marker, which was straight out in front of me and what I was using as an aim point, with one of them, so....that's alright.  I don't swing as hard as I used to, I don't think, so I might need to start thinking about switching from a stiff flex to a regular on that driver.  Should help.  Or I could stop being a lazy turd and actually start working out again.  Getting the clubs reshafted is easier.

Usually when I'm slicing up a storm it's because my right elbow is flying out on the back swing.

Dude, no offence, but you were putting 185 yards on the big stick?

2 P-51s, an A-10 and a F-16(yawn).

Always love watching those heritage flyovers, and wondering if the pilots are having kittens;  you've got a piston aircraft burning out the bearings to keep up with a jet, which is pushing stall trying to stay slow.

You could really tell the F-16 pilot in the back was really holding back. Getting stuck with 2 oldtimers and a mud mover must have slightly bruised his ego.

HEY NOW

That's Maryland Air National Guard and the official flyover for every Ravens home game.  :D

You know I love the A-10 and some sweet 30mm gun action. The OANG used to have some and I loved watching them flying around. And buzzing the Interstates.

I knew the MP that was on duty at Martins when Father Berrigan, fresh out of prison less than a week earlier, cut through the airfield wire, and was bashing the nose cone of an A-10 with a hammer when she rolled up on him.
Father Berrigan knew when to drop a hammer to avoid lead poisoning.
