The Minsky Moment

FWIW I regularly use a modern FIIO player when on the road.  Headphone jack, sd card, good internal amplifier, and doesn't use phone battery.
We have, accordingly, always had plenty of excellent lawyers, though we often had to do without even tolerable administrators, and seen destined to endure the inconvenience of hereafter doing without any constructive statesmen at all.

My boy has recently gotten into an old children's atlas I have, published in 1994.
One page speaks about the CIS.
Gorillas live in Zaire.

But weirdly, on the page India and it's neighbours.... Sikkhim is an independent state. This...was already long out of date in the 90s.

In fairness I don't mind the next couple of months. I get very excited for Halloween, I like Guy Fawkes and I've already started buying Christmas candles and new decorations

But January to March is a drag and the dark evenings are always a bit grim.
Let's bomb Russia!

January is, by far, my least-favorite month.  Cold and dark, winter really setting in, and a holiday hangover.  February is only slightly better.

When I was in school, April was always my least favorite month. That was then my will to keep going would finally start to ebb. Now I still think it kind of sucks, that is when it starts getting hot in Texas again and I know it is going to be a long brutal slog until we finally get to October and it cools off.

I am actually kind of giddy right now. Really great weather and just before Halloween.

January was my favourite time of year - a nice time to rest in between the high pressure December tournaments and getting ready for the equally high pressure final league games and regional playoffs.  A calm in the eye of the storm.

I still think of it as a time to get some rest, and I get annoyed when someone schedules something in the first two weeks.

In several surveys, the overwhelming first choice for what makes Canada unique is multiculturalism. This, in a world collapsing into stupid, impoverishing hatreds, is the distinctly Canadian national project.

April is the cruelest month.
I've given it serious thought. I must scorn the ways of my family, and seek a Japanese woman to yield me my progeny. He shall live in the lands of the east, and be well tutored in his sacred trust to weave the best traditions of Japan and the Sacred South together, until such time as he (or, indeed his house, which will periodically require infusion of both Southern and Japanese bloodlines of note) can deliver to the South it's independence, either in this world or in space.  -Lettow April of 2011

November and February are unnecessary filler months and should be removed.

January is the month with the most deaths.

First Irish woman to ever finish the Dublin Marathon.

I think you misheard the broadcaster.  She was the first Irish woman to finish the marathon this year, and they said she was last year as well.  In fact, an Irish woman has won the marathon 14 times in its history.

Remove the word "ever" and add the words "this year" and you will have an accurate post.

By the way, did you really think an Irish woman had not finished the Dublin marathon until this year? Did that not strike you as being obviously incorrect?
