In several surveys, the overwhelming first choice for what makes Canada unique is multiculturalism. This, in a world collapsing into stupid, impoverishing hatreds, is the distinctly Canadian national project.

Just saw that.  Biggest one is Terry Rozier; the Feds seem to have evidence of him modifying his performance for prop bettors.

Looks like there's an ongoing press conference providing more details.

I kind of get it in the past where athletes had offseason construction jobs or something and the cash helped, but in this day and age with these salaries why risk it?

It's just greed.  I think it's hard to fathom how someone pulling in tens of millions a year could want more to the point of risking legal trouble.  Some people get addicted to "number go up" and always want more, and it impairs their judgement and leads them to irrational and unwise decisions.  Many professional athletes additionally suffer from severe lifestyle inflation once they start making the big money, which leads to them spending tens of millions a year and wanting ways to keep it going.

On X, Eight Sleep CEO Matteo Franceschetti apologized; it's "not the experience we want to provide," he wrote. The brand is now working on "outage-proofing" for future issues. Franceschetti expects that to be done by the end of the day.

It's nothing scandalous.  For example, let's say you're feeling unwell at work and want to go home early.  You'd be wise to make sure your wife is not in your bed with her boyfriend, because you know that if you walk in on them, it'll take you a week to smooth things over with her.
