I remember there was a gruesome scene similar to that...

So there's a few storms battering these isles at the minute - shipping forecast map (they're almost all at violent storm force 11 which is very high ):

Red weather warning extended to where we and I believe Mongers lives, which is I think the first time since I am on the island. Stay safe guys.

Thanks Tamas, I'll be fine.

I'm only 12 miles from the Isle of Wight were that record wind speed has happened today, but given the Needles and how it's a prow of rock cliffs rearing out of the sea, I'm never sure what the wind speeds there tells one about the regional weather here.

My brother how ever lives within 5 miles of the West Devon coast so they're likely to see the full force of the storm.

Yeah - not the church in Wells where that Hot Fuzz scene was filled. Pretty extraordinary - hope they can fix it structurally soon. Similarly the fire in one of the thatch churches in Norwich was a real shame but will, apparently, be quick to fix.

Very well done - basically what online Britain has been like all day (in between talking about how we're more productive WFH actually, while watching Big Jet TV):

I don't think I've ever eaten an artichoke.
I've given it serious thought. I must scorn the ways of my family, and seek a Japanese woman to yield me my progeny. He shall live in the lands of the east, and be well tutored in his sacred trust to weave the best traditions of Japan and the Sacred South together, until such time as he (or, indeed his house, which will periodically require infusion of both Southern and Japanese bloodlines of note) can deliver to the South it's independence, either in this world or in space.  -Lettow April of 2011

A pilot on one of the planes that landed today filmed from inside the cockpit - next to the Big Jet TV commentary of his flight. Just incredible:
