Babies suck. I don't get how humanity ever survived.
My kid sleeps uneasy.
The other day he farted in his sleep, which gave him a fright and led to him punching himself in the face, so he woke up crying.

This... is... just... the... beginning...

Don't scare the lad too much.

The first few months are definitely the roughest when it comes to sleeping.  They wake up every few hours in order to eat, making it impossible to get a good night's sleep.  I am going to suggest you take turns getting up - and if it isn't your turn stay sleeping without guilt.

Usually by about 6 months or so they can sleep through the night.
Posts here are my own private opinions.  I do not speak for my employer.

There is another key thing about babies, they change and develop very quickly; so these problems will soon go away...to be replaced with new ones  :P

A change is as good as a rest though.

Yesterday, upon the stair,
I met a man who wasn't there
He wasn't there again today
I wish, I wish he'd go away...

I'm going to build a door with a chalkboard on it today. :)

Child number two did not sleep through the night until his first year.  But he was the devil child that would have been an only child if he had been our first.

The misery is just how seedy so much of it seemed, how many homeless and drunks there are around, etc. It made me profoundly uncomfortable in parts.

When I looked around the hotel "lobby", I thought I was going to end up in a tub without kidneys. My Uber driver must have thought the same, she was adamant to deliver us right to the door and did not leave until we were inside.

Where were you staying?

My daughter is two and it is still a crazy adventure to put her to sleep. She kicks me in the face every night.

Perhaps stop explaining the ACW to her?

It was just like a 10 minute walk from the Strip. Alas, it was my first time at a one-dimensional city. I didn't know anything beyond that one street was better avoided.

I know that now. Not that I plan on ever returning. If I ever go back to the States, New York City and the amazing wilderness are really the only things that remain on the list. And perhaps doing a bit of shooting at a range.

I did! Somehow moving on to talking about the Kings of the Gupta Empire didn't make her kick any less :weep:

That's because she knows that the Gupta Empire was headed by Maharajas, not kings, and was trying to knock some sense into you.

Watching the closing arguments in the Chauvin trial.  I am struck with how well the Prosecution is doing at explaining the medical evidence in plain language.

It made me think about an article over the weekend about how scientific terms are not well understood be even scientists - and a good reminder to use plain language whenever possible - even if it is more difficult to do so.

On the other hand counsel for the defence just mangled the balance of probability test to make it seem like proof beyond a reasonable doubt is very difficult to reach.
