Been reading some of the details of the way he monitored the women who signed NDAs and it's extraordinary. He had fake journalists getting in touch with them to check if they'd say anything :x :bleeding: <_<

I think it's beyond that now here:

The EU law only applied to the most dangerous allergens.

There's been a few deaths in the UK (I think Pret) that prompted it. So a lot of fast restaurants/sandwich chains etc like Pret or Leon will also ask if you've any allergies before you order.

But Natasha's Law applies only in those places.  it is not EU law, but UK law.  :contract:

The UK Parliament cannot create EU regulations.

That's the British law you mentioned, which is not yet in effect and seems to make producers give the full list of ingredients, rather than highlight allergens. The EU regulation, amongst other things, makes it mandatory to say if a food item has any of 14 specific allergens (sesame included, which was the one that killed that poor girl). The icons used are the following, which I believe are somehow standarized, but I don't know if that comes from the EU regulation specifically or somewhere else:

Sheilbh

Sure. But I think it's the UK law that Tyr was referring to when he said there's a big push for saying what's in your food, not the EU reg which is already law.

I think, because the EU reg left it for member states to implement on non-pre-packed foods, which covers that type of shop. This was in a Pret - so the sandwiches are made on the premises every morning (but not to order) used to just have signs telling customers to ask a member of staff if they have allergies. And from my time working in cafes you'd have a list of allergies for each product by the till. Now they'll have to have allergen labels.

Pret now list all ingredients, but them and Leon are the two I think of because every time you order the person at the till asks if you have any allergies.

The medievals were only too right in taking nolo episcopari as the best reason a man could give to others for making him a bishop. Give me a king whose chief interest in life is stamps, railways, or race-horses; and who has the power to sack his Vizier (or whatever you care to call him) if he does not like the cut of his trousers.

Government is an abstract noun meaning the art and process of governing and it should be an offence to write it with a capital G or so as to refer to people.
