Well, you work on that one, and until you get back to us we'll just go with "antisemitism".
I've given it serious thought. I must scorn the ways of my family, and seek a Japanese woman to yield me my progeny. He shall live in the lands of the east, and be well tutored in his sacred trust to weave the best traditions of Japan and the Sacred South together, until such time as he (or, indeed his house, which will periodically require infusion of both Southern and Japanese bloodlines of note) can deliver to the South it's independence, either in this world or in space.  -Lettow April of 2011

If you like them and know them well enough, add away.

Can we blame the International Left's hatred of Netanyahu on that too?
To sleep, perchance to dream. But in that sleep of death, what dreams may come?

It's possible.  Communists are an odd bunch.

Oh shit yes. Anti-semitism freely crosses many political lines.

1.6 % of the value of US exports of goods is blood plasma.

Mostly because most other countries don't allow plasma donors to be paid.

The motion of no confidence just passed.

At last we get our first good-looking president.

Would not hit. Also, what a generic name.

His coalition is really weak and looks pretty unstable on paper, so I guess he won't be there for long. He's intimated that he won't see out the entirety of the term (finishes in late 2020), but an election now would probably put the liberals in power.

He favors rapprochement with Catalan separatists, something which - like it or not - at some point has to be confronted. But those dudes aren't really honest bargainers.

To be frank, Spain desperately needed a new person at the helm, but I don't think he's the best man for the job - he comes across as an opportunist since he's flip-flopped so often depending on how the political wind blew. That said, he's made an incredible comeback - his party ousted him in 2016 and he's been able to win back the chairmanship, and now the Spanish presidency.

I can't really find many better alternatives to him though. We aren't blessed with great political talent at the top.

The Larch

As you said, a change was needed, but his position is not stable enough to try to carry on an ambitious agenda. I guess his main objective will be firstly to rehab PSOE's image after a terrible last few years in order to present themselves as a solid governing party, and try to undo some of the damage that PP has enacted recently with their most unpopular laws, going after low hanging fruit like the sun tax or the repressive limits to free speech, coupled with some house cleaning in key positions (RTVE's director should start packing his stuff and prepare to leave his desk, for instance).

That was actually already going to happen. The new RTVE law (forced upon PP by Cs and PSOE) is actually a pretty good law. PP was trying to stall its application but I hope it will be smooth sailing from now on.

You can add them once you've been introduced. Basically, if you would have exchanged business cards, e,all addresses, and/ or phone numbers.

Today is the kids' first day of summer vacation, and also National Doughnut Day-- free doughnuts at practically every doughnut establishment.  Kids were bouncing off the walls all morning
