As for what type of oil to use, not knowing your car the easiest answer is the owners manual.

Also, besides what GF said, do you always park in the same spot (garage?) If so check the ground for a leak. Or check the place you parked at when you leave in the morning.
Being lazy is bad; unless you still get what you want, then it's called "patience".

Yes. Everywhere on line says the manual but the manual doesn't say anything. :frusty:

That's odd. Does it have an appendix? Never actually looked for one in a car manual so I don't know lol

Citroen c5 aircross.
The manual seems generic across all engine variations.
I've discovered online 5w30 is correct for my 1. 2 litre version but the numbers on top of that and to what extent all 5w30s are the same, with huge price differences, is a mystery.

The first number is a flow rating. Smaller number works better at lower temperature.

Canadians put 5w20/30 in their cars. You could get away with a 10w imo.

The 2nd number is viscosity at 100c. Higher means more viscosity, a better protection but harder to move around.

Get 3.5L of 5w30 in your car. The middle price of all the choices. You are not driving a BMW here, no need for the high end stuff.

Any idea about the extra letters after that?
INEO, NFC, ECS, etc... Any of that matter?
The shop I bought some from last time said quite specifically only one, which seems expensive, was right.

Only one a know is ECL, which is Environmentally Considerate Lubricants. Basically you're paying more for greenwashing your conscience

Go and have an oil change done. It's a routine thing. That it was out of oil doesn't mean it was leaking out of the car. You would have noticed that.

The oil can and will "disappear" during use, my old car loved to munch on oil.

Not familiar with them. They either are a standardization organization or marketing. They don't matter.

Around here only SAE matters.

Maybe UK specific. But anyone else find it odd, Mother's Day, is the one day of the year which is only 23 hours.

Had a little break in Rome for the first time in about twenty years. Last time I went, a week before my trip, JPII died - so it was a very different holiday than expected. I went to the funeral, city more or less on lockdown in lots of areas (I particularly remember the insane American presidential motorcade carrying, I think, Clinton and both Bushes), media, priests, nuns everywhere.

This time, about a week after I booked my trip Francis as taken into hospital with a "complex" lung condition and I was worried I might have somehow caused this  Thankfully he's apparently recovering and it was a normal trip instead (I hadn't realised it was a Jubilee year so St Peter's particularly busy, lots of pilgrims etc).

Strong recommend on Centrale Montemartini if anyone's in the area - an overspill museum of exhibits from the Capitoline in a renovated power plant. It's fantastic - and in a way really worked for me mentally in slightly shifting my understanding of the Romans (lots of funerary statues from the Republic, then growing Egyptian and Greek influences into the imperial era):

Capitoline continues to be in the middle of a renovation which makes it a bit confusing - I can only assume this is the same renovation as 20 years ago and that like painting the Forth Bridge, Romans finish renovating it only to discover they need to start again
Let's bomb Russia!

You should visit Moscow.
