It's so disappointing that when faced with the opportunity to create a lasting and unique design for London-wide free drinking fountains, this is what was come up with.

I don't necessarily need them to be madly decorative but it feels like new street furniture across the city could look a little bit better. And they cost £10k a pop which is an amazing combination of looking cheap and being actually quite expensive

Also it's part of the move against single use plastic bottles - but it looks very plastic which feels a little bit annoying.

Brazil's former leftist president, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, has sealed an astonishing political comeback, beating the far-right incumbent Jair Bolsonaro in one of the most significant and bruising elections in the country's history.

With 99% of votes counted, Silva, a former factory worker who became Brazil's first working-class president exactly 20 years ago, had secured 50.8% of the vote. Bolsonaro, a firebrand who was elected in 2018, received 49.1%.

Now it remains to be seen how Bolsonaro will take this defeat, given that there were plenty of rumours about him not accepting one when it came to it.
