Ugh...gross.

Just rent a room in a love hotel and sleep in a real bed.
...a manga cafe is gross but a love hotel isn't?
One has a clean bed and the other doesn't.
It is far better for the truth to tear my flesh to pieces, then for my soul to wander through darkness in eternal damnation.

Jet: So what kind of woman is she? What's Julia like?
Faye: Ordinary. The kind of beautiful, dangerous ordinary that you just can't leave alone.
Jet: I see.
Faye: Like an angel from the underworld. Or a devil from Paradise.

Another dream deferred, I guess.

You don't want to be a new franchisee anyway. You will work like a dog for quite a while. 7 days a week work.

Most of the numbers in the construction industry look way off but I have only worked in one state so it is possible.

Midsommar at the Swedish cultural centre in Paris: less maypole craziness than in Sweden (unfortunately?).

PS: so Happy Midsommar to the Brain and the Swedes!

No, I don't.

€50k starting salary for a technician seems a bit high. Maybe for an engineer.

Yeah sorry. With "starting" I meant "just arrived in Germany".   Most people I know working there did have previous experience.

I have a long list of grievances against Comcast. A couple days ago my modem broke, and I had to call the support line. After waiting forever to talk to someone, I was fuming, and was going to go off on the person on the other end, but she ended up having what I think was a very sweet Argentine accent so I was polite.

I needed to go to the customer center to get a new modem. The customer center is normally a pit of hell where you have to wait an hour plus. But Comcast apparently put in place a new system where they route you to specialists when you walk in the door (as opposed to the old system where every person behind the counter handled every type of problem) and there was no wait. It seems Comcast actually put forth an effort to improve.
They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety.

There's a fine line between salvation and drinking poison in the jungle.

I'm embarrassed. I've been making the mistake of associating with you. It won't happen again. :)
