Mrs. MIM and I are flying into Vienna in a couple months.

QuoteAre there Turkish skulls outside the city? Is the Danube really blue?

Turkish skulls - not that I'm aware of, though I guess it's conceivable. I can show you a couple dozen Turkish restaurants, though. :P
Danube - depends on the weather. If the sky is blue, so is the Danube. From my office I look down on it and the side-arm they added when they created the Danube Island is usually bluer than the main one.

Don't mistake the Danube Canal near Schwedenplatz with the Danube, though or (even worse) the Wien river. ;)
I am, somehow, less interested in the weight and convolutions of Einstein's brain than in the near certainty that people of equal talent have lived and died in cotton fields and sweatshops.

Jet: So what kind of woman is she? What's Julia like?
Faye: Ordinary. The kind of beautiful, dangerous ordinary that you just can't leave alone.
Jet: I see.
Faye: Like an angel from the underworld. Or a devil from Paradise.

That's a big tree.
It's one of the largest trees in the world. When the seed it came from sprouted the Greeks were laying siege to Troy.

Can you sing or play an instrument?

Dammit, I had a good line left for the bot thread!
I've given it serious thought. I must scorn the ways of my family, and seek a Japanese woman to yield me my progeny. He shall live in the lands of the east, and be well tutored in his sacred trust to weave the best traditions of Japan and the Sacred South together, until such time as he (or, indeed his house, which will periodically require infusion of both Southern and Japanese bloodlines of note) can deliver to the South it's independence, either in this world or in space.  -Lettow April of 2011

Probably about the same as the people who live in the Central Valley / most of the Inland Empire.
