I dunno, looks like Assburger's is contagious as shit with all the young people these days.

Don't count yourself out.  I've always considered you reasonably high functioning.

I'm about as close to Assburger's as garbon is to becoming a cunning linguist.

Got my EA settlement check yesterday-- $128.28.  Daddy's got some drinkin' money for the weekend!!

Obamacare will help them.

Probably not since it's no longer considered a mental disorder.
I've given it serious thought. I must scorn the ways of my family, and seek a Japanese woman to yield me my progeny. He shall live in the lands of the east, and be well tutored in his sacred trust to weave the best traditions of Japan and the Sacred South together, until such time as he (or, indeed his house, which will periodically require infusion of both Southern and Japanese bloodlines of note) can deliver to the South it's independence, either in this world or in space.  -Lettow April of 2011

It has just been subsumed into the spectrum...so I think people with those symptoms would still be considered to have a disorder...

Aw man.  Somehow I've made it onto my dad's FWD: FWD: FWD: FWD: mailing list.  Just got one about the "Affordable Boat Act" (blahblahblah Obamacare stuff).  Anyway, whatever, just my dad spamming me with political BS, right?  Except his buddies on the list have a habit of mashing reply all, and then typing something stupid.  Like this latest one.  I REALLY HOPE THIS ISNT TRUE LET ME KNOW OKAY

Sigh.

I made all 5 kids get flu shots. Anything that helps against the winter sickness malaise is okay in my book.

I'm sure Mister Stomach Bug and the vomit express will makeup for it.  :glare:

The only time I've experienced the flu was when my doc convinced me to get vaccinated against swine flu that winter. I think I'll pass again this year.

In my house it will.  Damned pre-school and kindergarten.

My sister in law was a primary school teacher for years.  She was always sick.  Damn kids are disease magnets.
I have come to believe that the whole world is an enigma, a harmless enigma that is made terrible by our own mad attempt to interpret it as though it had an underlying truth.

I received my Samsung Galaxy S4 this week and love it. My previous mobile was the Nokia E7-00 (which I got mostly for the integrated qwerty-keyboard.

It's also the first cell phone in over ten years where I felt I need a little leather case to store it in, because while not small it feels flimsy.

Anyways, I know speech recognition/searches are an old hat, but this is still the stuff of sci-fi for someone born in 1976. Not to mention that the device recognizes whether or not you're looking at it or tilt your head (for scrolling on webpages - I deactivated that scroll feature because it feels goofy). And as it ties into my Google account it's updated my contacts and bookmarks automagically.

Jet: So what kind of woman is she? What's Julia like?
Faye: Ordinary. The kind of beautiful, dangerous ordinary that you just can't leave alone.
Jet: I see.
Faye: Like an angel from the underworld. Or a devil from Paradise.
