My client, on the phone just now, asked if I went and voted for de Blasio. I breezed past it and just said that yeah I went and voted last night and spoke about turnout.

I drank because I wanted to drown my sorrows, but now the damned things have learned to swim.

Detroit only has 9 council members?!?! What's the population of Detroit?

About 700,000 today; but they had 9 when it was a city of two million.
In Italy, for thirty years under the Borgias, they had warfare, terror, murder and bloodshed, but they produced Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci and the Renaissance. In Switzerland, they had brotherly love, they had five hundred years of democracy and peace—and what did that produce? The cuckoo clock

Wow that is amazing.  The fall of the Austro-Hungarian Empire was less hard on Vienna than the decline of the Big 3 has been on Detroit.

Zmiinyi defenders: "Russian warship, go fuck yourself."

Posts here are my own private opinions.  I do not speak for my employer.

Yes, here's a graph which compares the city of Detroit with South East Michigan as a whole:

Someone sent me this link, I am not sure what to think about it, they look pretty cool. I like the star destroyer behind the house on the side of the mountain.

Warning to Ide, probably nothing here for you.

This is one of the best things I have ever seen but probably NSFW.  No nudity or porn, but you definitely don't want the boss seeing this over your shoulder.

Well maybe not ever, but it really tickled my funny bone when I saw it.

I fucked up.  I quit smoking for almost a year, then "Oh I'll just have a couple this weekend!" which has now turned in to me looking at this pack I just brought home to replace the other one I smoked over the weekend/first half of the week.

Welp.

At least I'm not smoking as much?   :Embarrass:

Was just watching a show that has exterior shot of my street corner. This is dorky to say but looks like it must be old footage as the corner restaurant shown closed around the time that I first moved to this apt. I was wondering why I didn't see them filming.
