I don't get it. Are you saying there's some kind of connection between Israel and Jews?  :huh:

That's what they'd have you believe.

EU3 seems much more difficult to edit a save game file than HOI2 :(

EU3 is actually more forgiving.  What are you doing?
Not forgiving enough, my latest tinkering caused it to crash. :(
It is far better for the truth to tear my flesh to pieces, then for my soul to wander through darkness in eternal damnation.

Jet: So what kind of woman is she? What's Julia like?
Faye: Ordinary. The kind of beautiful, dangerous ordinary that you just can't leave alone.
Jet: I see.
Faye: Like an angel from the underworld. Or a devil from Paradise.

This is why you keep backups and look at the output logs.  Send another email if you must.

I've got an autosave I can use if I have to, but I changed a lot of stuff so I'm hoping you can see what I did wrong. Email sent.

Nah, you've fucked this one up by the numbers.  I found one obvious and monster error, but there's more left.

        1728.8.14={
            advisor={
                name="Cristoph von Oberg"
                type=colonial_governor
                skill=1
                location=90
                date="1728.8.14"
                id={
                    id=

                    idtype=39
                }

            }
        }

This is kind of a problem.  Give this guy a real id (such as 1543; if you do this, bump the advisor number at the top to 1544) or delete him.

...but wait, there's more!  You've kind of hacked the shit out of this one.  Try doing the edits on the autosave, see if it works or not, and if it doesn't work send me both versions.

I don't remember going anywhere near that.  :huh:

I'll compare the older version side by side by this one and see what went wrong.

Thanks for the help by the way.

My wife has taken to downloading torrents of HBO shows, and I'm tired of getting dinged with ridiculous bandwidth overage charges so I'm switching to cable internet from DSL.

They insist on sending someone out to "install" it.  :rolleyes:

They do that lol.

I changed modem about 3 weeks ago. They've actually called me at work while the tech was here for me to help make it work. :bleeding:

No bandwith charges with cable? My Rogers account does charge me if I go over a certain amount, but I do have a fair amount allowed. But, Yeah....if you're not getting screwed by one TelCom company you're getting screwed by another. I'm tired of dealing with Rogers or Bell. My freaking cell phone bill has more administrative charges each month than usage.

They're worse than lawyers.

Uhm....not you, of course. :)

Well it is a unique perspective.
I've given it serious thought. I must scorn the ways of my family, and seek a Japanese woman to yield me my progeny. He shall live in the lands of the east, and be well tutored in his sacred trust to weave the best traditions of Japan and the Sacred South together, until such time as he (or, indeed his house, which will periodically require infusion of both Southern and Japanese bloodlines of note) can deliver to the South it's independence, either in this world or in space.  -Lettow April of 2011
