I don't think this is necessarily true of Raz.

But I think you could apply this more broadly, just replace balls of lights with "basket of deplorables"/DEI-ista etc types. It's a lot - I think there's a lot of overlap there.

Why Ukraine will win. Bringing together a lot of the solid numbers.

... With the US being the key that could turn things around for Russia of course. It's all in their hands. Sounds like they are about to bust the sanctions.

Looks very optimistic to me....I do hope he's right.

So the Russians will agree to let the Ukrainians stop sinking the Russian navy, but only if in exchange Russian agriculture as a whole is freed from sanctions.

It's just bleak. Every day I am trying to figure out exactly what mix of evilness and stupidity is at play with the US government

Also once we get into sanctions - that doesn't work without the EU (Swift is Belgium based, for example).

I think it's Russia slow-walking this because Putin doesn't want to make a commitment one way or the other. Challenge for European diplomats is convincing the US to see that for what it is - effectively saying no.

I think the problem is that Trump desperatly wants to be able that Putin said yes, no matter what that costs Ukraine.

And one thing we have clearly confirmed by now is that fears of no check on Trump from his cabinet like during his first time were absolutely correct. Everyone around him are falling over themselves to prover they are exactly as stupid and reckless as their boss.

He wants to out do Obama, for that he needs a Nobel Peace prize within his first year.
Getting ready to make IEDs against American Occupation Forces.

"But I didn't vote for him"; they cried.

Yeah I agree - that's the challenge for European leaders and diplomats - to nick a phrase, they need to heighten those contradictions between Putin desperately not wanting to agree to anything and Trump desperately wanting Putin to agree to anything.

I don't think he understands how the Nobel Peace prize is awarded.
I've given it serious thought. I must scorn the ways of my family, and seek a Japanese woman to yield me my progeny. He shall live in the lands of the east, and be well tutored in his sacred trust to weave the best traditions of Japan and the Sacred South together, until such time as he (or, indeed his house, which will periodically require infusion of both Southern and Japanese bloodlines of note) can deliver to the South it's independence, either in this world or in space.  -Lettow April of 2011

Neither did Obama when he got one. :uffda:

The Minsky Moment

Like Obama, Trump enjoys the qualification of not being George W. Bush.

Unfortunately for him, he suffers from the disqualification of being Donald Trump.

Bill Clinton must be livid. Genuinely key to the Northern Ireland peace process, negotiating Dayton to end the Bosnian War, was instrumental in ending the genocide in Kosovo and put in more time and effort and attempts into Israel-Palestine than anyone else.

Clinton isn't dead yet, they might still award it. And should
