Rubio is now the favored establishment candidate.  I'm sure they'd love to have Kasich instead, but he needs to win something.

Also FWIW the leftists in Ohio think Kasich is as much a fascist as Trump.  Which amuses me.

Us old-timers remember when Kasich was one of Gringrich's leading bomb-throwing shock troops in the Clinton years.  Seems like he's mellowed a bit but old grudges carry.

Most of it here in Ohio is over him "gutting education", though I rarely hear specifics.  Most of the ire seems to come from Millenial-ish types.  Among older Democrats around here he seems to be viewed as more of a consensus-builder.

Breaking the teachers any public sector union is never going to be popular with communists. Or socialists. Or Democrats.

The last tracking poll in New Hampshire is:

Trump: 36
Rubio: 15
Cruz: 14
Bush: 8
Kasich: 7
Christie: 5

If that holds up, it is a 3 person race. Probably the person best positioned to break in is Bush, but only because he could conceivably turn an upset #2 finish into future primary competitiveness as he has the money to do so. I don't think Kasich and Christie have the funding.

I'm embarrassed. I've been making the mistake of associating with you. It won't happen again. :)

Everyone knows Iowa Republicans are dumb as bricks but I thought New Hampshire was a little smarter than that.

My criticism of your antics has nothing to do with you posting articles from certain places, but that you post them without any serious commentary a la Tim.  You'd realize that if you read what I wrote rather than reading what you want to think I wrote.

I do that all the time, because I think it trite to write something immediately afterword.  Examples:

Yet you get bent out of shape over this one?  Seems odd, unless one considers your political position.
I've given it serious thought. I must scorn the ways of my family, and seek a Japanese woman to yield me my progeny. He shall live in the lands of the east, and be well tutored in his sacred trust to weave the best traditions of Japan and the Sacred South together, until such time as he (or, indeed his house, which will periodically require infusion of both Southern and Japanese bloodlines of note) can deliver to the South it's independence, either in this world or in space.  -Lettow April of 2011

Are you talking about the state that went for Pat Buchanan?

It was reported that Rubio had a "3-2-1" strategy - come in 3rd in Iowa, 2nd in New Hampshire, then 1st in either Nevada or South Carolina.  Looks like he might be able to pull it off.

We also seem to be seeing the destruction of the myth that NEw Hampshirites are really jealous of their "first primary in the nation" status and reward candidates who spend the most time there.  Guys like Christie and Kasich, who devoted all of their efforts into New Hampshire, aren't getting much results for their hard work.

I didn't realize it was my responsibility to respond to every single one of your posts.  My mistake.  I'll just stop responding to any of them, since you insist on consistent dishonesty.
The medievals were only too right in taking nolo episcopari as the best reason a man could give to others for making him a bishop. Give me a king whose chief interest in life is stamps, railways, or race-horses; and who has the power to sack his Vizier (or whatever you care to call him) if he does not like the cut of his trousers.

Government is an abstract noun meaning the art and process of governing and it should be an offence to write it with a capital G or so as to refer to people.

We'll see.

Same.  I'm hoping this turns out to be another Iowa, where a significant portion of the voters are either just lying to pollsters or aren't captured in the polling numbers.

Of course.  Nothing I said should be seen as a prediction.

Trump still leads the national polls quite handily.  Looking just at poll numbers you'd have to think he's the overwhelming favourite.  It's only when you say "hey - surely people are not that dumb as to vote for this clown) that you downgrade his odds.
