Nearly half way through the pilot of Empire (the commercials got to me) and I am loving it. :D

Blade 3. Jessica Biel before she got horse face.

On a scale from Paulus to Manstein, I give it a Hube.

Okay, confirmed that I'll be watching this. How often do you get a show where a mother gets to unapologetically beat down her grown son with a broom?

Hope Solo documentary?  Ok, that was a nephew, not a son, but otherwise...

That's old school beating. :)

It was pretty...glorious.

Not, of course, that I approve of actual domestic violence.

I had assumed Mama CDM's weapon of choice was her tongue.  :hmm:
To sleep, perchance to dream. But in that sleep of death, what dreams may come?

Deadwood is probably the best writing on the American West, ever.
Yep. It's some of the best writing on TV, ever.

It's one of the only TV series that I think really does compare to a novel. It's beautifully acted and looks wonderful. But the real star is the writing and the language which is just brilliant and almost dense if you know what I mean.

Steven Soderbergh has edited down 2001 A Space odyssey to 110 minutes or so. I'd like to see what he cut, but can't be arsed to watch it again (I watched the full Kubrick version just two weeks ago--for the umpteenth time)

Soderbergh plays around a lot with his editing tools.  You'd think maybe retirement was boring him.  Maybe he should get off his lazy Boomer ass and get back to work.  Fucker's 52.

Actually, is 52 even proper Boomer?  Or is it really early Gen X?
