Due to strange circumstances too complex to explain, I ended up tonight stoned watching "The Golden Child" with some friends. Terrible film, but it works as "so-bad-it's-good" when you're stoned. Also, the karate chick is really hot and the film doesn't shy away from showcasing it in quite shameless ways.

Charles Dance and Victor Wong.  They actually save movies by their very presence.

I can't stand those Train your Dragon movies.

Loved him in the "3 Ninjas" saga when I was a kid...

I can't stand those Train your Dragon movies.

The second one has a really weak plot, but at least it's pretty.

It had Aubrey Plaza, Mark Duplass and Jake Johnson, all from above average comedy series and it was on Netflix, easy choice to watch it.

I wouldn't rate New Girl above average. But then I've only seen the pilot.

Actually, if it was just for this season and last, I wouldn't rate Parks and Rec above average either. :(

QuoteNice indie flick with sporadic comedy most of which was physical.

Yeah, it wasn't bad.

The first series of New Girl was a joy. I believe it got a bit crap after that.

The girlfriend and I watched that for a date night a few months ago.  Really enjoyed it, though I agree with your B.  Could have been a B+ or even an A- if they had resisted the urge to put the final scene onscreen, though.

Animal tear jerker.

OK, not in the mood for that; I'll watch over the weekend.  :)

The fourth season is being brilliant, but I agree that at some point in season 2 or 3 it went slightly downhill, but it picked up later.

Closest thing to a big budget WWI film we'll have anytime soon, though. And being Spielberg, I expected it to be more bland than it actually is. Pleasantly surprised.

Election. Had forgotten most of it. That it's far more about Broderick than Witherspoon, for one. Pretty good movie.

Gone girl.

Freedom of choice is great, but you have to face the consequences.
A man chooses for wife the greatest sex adventure he had in ages.  Now he's trapped with a huge problem and he has to get out of this mess by himself.

Secondary, the movie explores the influence of medias in criminal trials and the effects it has not only on everyone's life, but on police work.

There's nothing really credible about the plot, there's enough holes to create a few golf course, but it works admirably well all put together.  Ben Affleck is brilliant as the clueless guy.

Of course, you guess everything, except the inconclusive ending after 5-10 minutes, but it's still great.

That is such a fantastic movie.
