I suspect Jay Jones is still likely to win. And after tonight's gubernatorial debate, I can't see how anyone would vote for the Republican nutcase over Spanberger, who still leads by double-digits, and polls show voters aren't biting on her anti-trans baiting.

Still, hopefully Jones is a lesson in not sending stupid text to members of the other party. Given other things that have come up with him, his judgement is clearly shit. <_<

One thing they can thank Trump for, is that his campaign of constant media distraction has a pretty widespread jamming effect on all other political events, even at local levels.

He tends to blow hot and cold.  He very much called the Trump/Musk falling out...but even today still thinks the Dems should embrace/rehabilitate Musk and try to pull him back...which I think is absolute folly.

And he's a crytpo-bro.  (though, he has made some of the most intelligent arguments in favor of it...but I still think he is wrong)

From a recent interview (did not know before)...dude is apparently hyuuge on astrology.  :P

In several surveys, the overwhelming first choice for what makes Canada unique is multiculturalism. This, in a world collapsing into stupid, impoverishing hatreds, is the distinctly Canadian national project.

The frustrating part, even in the first Trump term, was that the only real alternative was the corrupt status quo that made Trump possible to begin with. I guess we shouldn't have been too surprised that putting them back in power only made Trump possible a second time despite hitting 35% approval as he left office.

So even if we could get the Dems back into power, which will take a herculean effort...you can just see them smugly going about their business again as if nothing serious had just happened. Meanwhile we seem to be headed right off the cliff into a total disaster.

Agreed.  Some of the "small" anti-corruption precedents being broken have a good chance of sticking.  Things like high-level politicians using blind trusts while in office, etc.  There will be many Democrats that will just as happy to profit-seek (hopefully less openly/egregiously) while in office as the GOP.

The works in Maine to try and unseat the squishy Republican, Susan Collins, is looking like a train wreck.  When you have to apologize for as many things as Platner is...might just as well call it quits.  And Mills would be entering the Senate at the age of ~79.

Got a feeling Collins is going to keep her seat.

Valmy

That is what we get for holding our politicians responsible for things.

But the election isn't until next year right? Why is it all lost already?

Yep. Lots of things Trump did Biden just sort of...left in place. Same with Obama and Bush's abuses. It is so frustrating. The Democrats are better, but holy shit they still suck.
