I wear shorts in the gym and at the beach. Maybe at home on a hot day, but I wouldn't go out wearing them.

Our colleague from Jaipur pointed out today that at the moment they have over 40°C during the day and about 30°C at night back home. Quite honestly, the forecast looks horrendous. I find everything over 28 quite uncomfortable :D

Yes, it's a problem. People use malls for this in the summer. Thankfully this heatwave is only 4 days long.

What Texas malls wouldn't give to used for something anymore.

Yeah I wear shorts more or less constantly once it gets warm. Have to wear trousers for work, but then normally bring shorts with me to change into at the end of the day
Let's bomb Russia!

Yeah I wear trousers to work no matter what the weather but as soon as the calendar turns to April I am pretty much in shorts everywhere else until October. But this is Texas where you get drenched in sweat during your walk from your car to your office at 7AM during the summer.

I have to wear long sturdy trousers and work boots. Which makes for shitty conditions during Spanish summer weather. Even more so with COVID PPEs on.

On the flip side, a bunch of us are taking advantage of the current circumstances to work 6 to 14 which helps quite a bit with the heat.

Shorts no, unless for sports, but bermudas yes.

I live in Santa Cruz, California.  It never gets too hot here (for long), nor too cold. I wear cargo shorts year round since I can.  As I told my boss, it is better than me coming in to work in a speedo (of course, this being Santa Cruz, very few would notice or care if i did).
I have come to believe that the whole world is an enigma, a harmless enigma that is made terrible by our own mad attempt to interpret it as though it had an underlying truth.

Quote from: Tamas on May 26, 2020, 09:17:18 AMYeah, I think discipline was waning even before this. There are some horrific pictures of overcrowding at places the Brits call beaches.

Outdoors spread seems minuscule, move the pubs and restaurants outdoors as much as possible and slather everything in hand sanitizer. For instance there was a mini-outbreak reported in Germany just recently. It involved a Baptist congregation in Frankfurt. Currently 107 confirmed infections, chairwoman in ICU. Congregation claims they adhered to social distancing BUT they performed joint singing without face masks.  :hmm:

Also I dislike these naggy bints going into public places and then acting shocked at all these horrible plebs doing just the same thing they are. These people are enjoying lockdown a little too much and lack empathy.

 The countryside in general is just gorgeous in this country. My snarkiness was more about the climate I guess. It gets to 25 degrees Celsius and people invade the beaches as if this is proper summer.

2 consecutive days of 25 degrees here and the health authorities would probably issue a warning.

Read this morning that Newcastle City Council is planning a programme of events to revive the economy and encourage people to the city centre after the lock down....
Which.... Well. Sounds lovely for me personally. Stuff to do is good.
But.... Kind of ill advised. Aren't we meant to be socially distancing for a while to come?

I actually booked a flight to Venice and a hotel 50 meters from Pizza San Marco now for the last weekend in June. Bella Italia, here I come!
And my flight was cancelled... moved to one weekend later. Let's see if they actually fly eventually.

Actually I picked up that habit in Italy.
