Not Tim.
Tim's a good kid... he just can't spell.  But neither can Trump. :contract:

Tim would dramatically increase the NASA budget.
Tim would divert vast amounts of the military budget to explore rail gun technologies.
The CDC would obtain unprecedented funding to contain ebola.

I could go on. Lets just say Tim and government would be sort of like Homer designing a car:

They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety.

I'm embarrassed. I've been making the mistake of associating with you. It won't happen again. :)

The Minsky Moment

As long as Trump doesn't get less than -25% net approval ratings, he'll get re-elected. He only needs to appeal to the 40% that his base represents to do this.

I don't think it is possible to have 40% approval and -25% net approval at the same time.

We have very very high IQ expert math people that say we can do it. The mainstream math people are all Democrats.

Fixed that for you.

Democrat Jim Webb?

Yeah but he is on the right of the party and a former Republican. Also he dislikes Hillary Clinton so that probably automatically made him a darling of Donald.

And former Navy Secretary and assistant Defence Secretary under Reagan.

He certainly has the resume, and you'd think would sail through confirmation.  Question is whether he wants the job.

He'd be a fool to take the job and think his input will actually mean anything.
The medievals were only too right in taking nolo episcopari as the best reason a man could give to others for making him a bishop. Give me a king whose chief interest in life is stamps, railways, or race-horses; and who has the power to sack his Vizier (or whatever you care to call him) if he does not like the cut of his trousers.

Government is an abstract noun meaning the art and process of governing and it should be an offence to write it with a capital G or so as to refer to people.

He is over 70 so it is not like he would be ruining any future prospects. He might take it out of a patriotic sense of duty.

Yeah.  It's whether he thinks he can be another "adult in the room".  Much like Mattis.

As we've seen when Trump makes an absolute declaration little can be done, but many of his pronouncements have been "slow walked".  Like, say, his ban on transgendered troops.  So it's still important who is in cabinet.

My President thinks the Soviet Union invaded Afghanistan because of terrorists and that they were right to invade.

  :Embarrass:
It is pretty embarrassing that like literally every person on this forum is way more qualified to be POTUS than Trump is...

The sad thing is that is not actually true.

Each and every one of us might be smarter and harder working than Trump, but I doubt any of us would be able to maintain even 40% approval ratings in office.

I'm pretty sure just being a president from one of the two big parties would be enough to maintain 40% for anyone here.

NASA gets like less than .5% of the budget. Increasing it by 50% would only be another 10 billion dollars.

Research on rail guns seems to be going well with the current budget.
I'd increase Naval funding for ship purchases.

I would raise taxes to spend on universal health care and green energy projects though.

Pay-go will inhibit counter-cyclical spending and make the next recession worse. The Dems have learned nothing.
