I knew what a Merkin was purely because on some message board or other I used to frequent, someone used 'merkins as slang for Americans and a big kerfuffle of board drama and hurt feelings ensued. And, of course, that required everyone to be educated about what merkins are ... though this is the first time I've seen a picture of one.

And the vast majority of the posts are probably made but the top 15 to 20 percent of those 248 members. Wonder how many actual active posters we have. 30?
