QuoteVienna's art history museum is preparing to launch an exhibition co-curated by filmmaker Wes Anderson and his wife, the writer and illustrator Juman Malouf, in which they offer a personal selection of the museum's treasures.

The staff of curators and conservators at the Kunsthistorisches Museum assisted Anderson and Malouf in assembling the show's more than 400 objects from the museum's historical collections, taken from areas including Egyptian, Greek and Roman antiquities, Old Master paintings, the Imperial Armoury, Coin Collection and the Collection of Historic Musical Instruments.

The fruits of this collaboration will be on display starting Tuesday in the exhibition "Spitzmaus Mummy in a Coffin and other Treasures," whose historical scope ranges from a necklace of ceramic beads made in Ancient Egypt to a wooden monkey carved in Indonesia almost 5,000 years later.

Newly shared images from inside the exhibition reveal a quintessentially Wes Anderson creation, complete with somber jewel tones, carefully juxtaposed objects and quirkily arranged portraits reminiscent of the director's trademark aesthetic.

"While Juman Malouf and I can take no credit for the conception and creation of any of the works of art included in this exhibition," writes Anderson in the exhibition catalog, "we do harbor the humble aspiration that the unconventional groupings and arrangement of the works on display may influence the study of art and antiquity in minor, even trivial, but nevertheless detectable ways for many future generations to come."

Examples of the links they emphasized -- some of which are "more apparent than others," they concede -- include the placing of "a seventeenth century emerald vessel in a confined space opposite the bright green costume from a 1978 production of Hedda Gabler in order to call attention to the molecular similarities between hexagonal crystal and Shantung silk," while "a box for the storage of Spanish powdered wigs goes next to a case for the storage of the crown of the king of Italy because both were so clearly shaped and formed by the introduction of the hinge."

"Spitzmaus Mummy and Other Treasures" opens on November 6 and runs through April 28, 2019. After that, it will get a second run at the Fondaziona Prada in Milan starting next October.

TV cabinet to me sounds like it has the TV inside. This was a small unit.

I'm getting it.  So a unit is a stand, but with doors on the bottom part to hide your porn from the kids?

Pretty much.
Though mine had glass doors so... Err.... Yeah. Not sure why cupboards ever have glass doors.

I'd presume that is so you could potentially have DVD player/cable/satellite boxes in there and have the remote still work.

So... Is it worth paying twice as much for 100mbps broadband  (£27) vs 10mbps?

So, today this appeared on the screen while a piece of luggage was X-rayed at the security control of Barcelona's largest railway station:

The station was evacuated, railway traffic between Madrid and Barcelona shut down, and the corresponding station in Madrid was evacuated too.

It was a belt buckle. Better safe than sorry though.

This sort of thing happened to me! In Israel, no less.

I was travelling from work on an archeological site (Tel Dor). Going through Israeli customs, there was a sudden alarm! With my carry on!

What it was, was this: I was carrying some art supplies with me. At the time, I used a lot of chalk pastels. These were half-sized, stored in a box.

What I didn't know, was that the pigments in these things were opaque to x-rays, so they looked metallic ... with one end flat and the other rounded, half-sized pastels looked much like a box or magazine of large-calibre bullets.

The alarm was quickly resolved, with laughs all around ...

Soooo... the police has apprehended a far right weapon nutso that was planning to go all JFK on the Spanish president during his visit to Barcelona this December.

Fortunately the guy was dumb enough to solicit help in far right whatsapp groups, which are infiltrated by the police.
