I hate Sonic.
I find their food mediocre at best. And everybody I know from TEXAS says it is the bees knees.  :homestar:

Maybe it's because we've never had any around Maryland until very recently, but I sorta like them.  I think Checkers is better, though.

Then again, I have an absolute, irrational, crackhead weakness for cheeseburgers, so don't trust my judgement.  Even the shittiest ones on the planet.  OMG HAS THAT ROYAL FARMS CHEESEBURGER SLIDER BEEN UNDER THE WARMER FOR 9 HOURS LEMME TAKE THAT OFF YOUR HANDS

Every time I see a Sonic I think of that Simple Life episode where they worked at Sonic and were outside flipping off every car that drove by, yelling "Soniiic!"

I think I've eaten there twice.

What's nasty is Checkers.  I helped my brother move some crap from his storage space a couple weeks ago and he promised me lunch.  We went to Checkers.  Yeah.

:(

Five Guys is the bomb, though.  I'd blow all five just to thank them.

No fucking Steak 'n Shakes here, either.  :(

Fuck, now I want to turn off the oven, save the parmesan salmon steak for tomorrow, and make a burger run.  Shit.

Some of the chains that suck are remarkably better in the south. There is a marked difference to me. I even once ate at an Old Country Buffet in Little Rock and it was...good! And that's something you will never be able to say about one of those same places in Ohio or whatever. It was a Sunday afternoon and the place was filled with people who had just come from church service in a huge black church. Some of them were singing. It was fun.

Edit: Might have been Golden Corral, I dunno. One of those.

Oh yeah, those places rock down south, even I've noticed the difference.  And the bonus about Sundays with those all-you-can-eat places is exactly what you said:  the church ladies show up en masse', and that means a lot of fresh food gets rotated in and out, not sitting in the back coagulating and getting stale.
You want to hit a buffet, you hit that fucker on a Sunday.  Screw the lines.

Speaking of buffets, I'd like to stick my dick in Golden Corral's Chocolate wonderfall. And piss in their cotton candy machine.

Now that I'm in Charlotte, I can't get enough of Bojangles' (fried chicken and biscuits), but especially Cook-Out, something I've never seen before.  They have a delicious A-1 flavored "steak" burger  :mmm:, great milkshakes, and inspirational Bible citations on all the wrappers.   :)

We used to have Bojangles' here in Md, but the franchises got bought out by Po' Folks, which didn't last long and got bought up by Bob Evans.*

And Bob Evans is A-OK.  Biscuit bowls and Sunshine Skillets?  Hell yeahs.

Think I've missed Bob Evans.  I always think of the Sammy Davis Jr "Mr. Bojangles" when I go in... the chicken is good (definitely >Popeyes and >>KFC), but the ham and egg biscuits are great.

While we're on the subject of shitty franchise food, has anybody tried Pizza Hut's new P'zolos yet?

They're opening one up near where I work next week. What's it like?
