The Five Guys recommendation receives the seal of approval from me.

Can't wait. Will try one out next week.

I've lived my entire life without a cellphone, a driver's license, and many of the other modern conveniences associated with life in the western world. I have, however, just bought my first camera. :)

I leave in a week, and wish to record the cats of Kyushu, as well as other objects of interest. Incessantly taking photos will be yet another step on the path to integration into Japanese society.

If there is desire for a catalog of Kyushu's cats & curiosities from languish, i'd be happy to post these pictures here.

Did I miss something? You've got yourself a job in Japan? Where in Kyushu?

The cats in Kyushu look scrawny.

I always feel disgusting when eating at 5 guys. Too much food.

They really overdo it with the fries;  I prefer getting the cajun style regular size, and then eating less than half.  No reason for a group of three people to order anything more than 1 order of fries.

Turns of Five Brothers opened near me yesterday not next week.

So on my way back to office from dentist appt. was hungry and thought I'd check it out.

Ordered their basic hamburger with mayo, lettuce, onions, tomatoes.

Was good. Nothing super fancy but good.

I didn't realize the basic hamburger is TWO patties. If I wanted a single, I guess I should have ordered the "little" hamburger.
That said, I think a Licks single pattie is larger.

It's good for what it is. Didn't feel like fries or pop. It's not cheap, though.

here, in toronto, a cheesburger, regular fries and regular drink would come to:

$7.69+
$3.69+
$2.19

Roughly $14.
+13 per cent tax=

close to $16

A bit much. Most fast food places offer combos where you could get a sandwich, fries, pop for under $10.

Well, your problem was that you went to Five Brothers (presumably some knock-off chain) rather than Five Guys.

Try Five Guys and let us know how that goes.
The medievals were only too right in taking nolo episcopari as the best reason a man could give to others for making him a bishop. Give me a king whose chief interest in life is stamps, railways, or race-horses; and who has the power to sack his Vizier (or whatever you care to call him) if he does not like the cut of his trousers.

Government is an abstract noun meaning the art and process of governing and it should be an offence to write it with a capital G or so as to refer to people.

Not a job yet. Just studying in a college over the summer in Fukuoka for a little over a month. I'll come back for a job after I graduate, which is in the spring.
It can't be helped...We'll have to use 'that'

It would make for an interesting AAR. :yeah:
