It's a Lion, if it somehow broke the glass. You being 5inches from the glass or 5 feet won't change anything. You are fucked.

1. If I'm not dangling a tasty baby snack 5" in front of the window, the lion is less likely to break it.

2. If there are other people less than 5' from the now broken glass, it does make a difference as there are more tempting targets for the lions.

Though rationally I know that lions are unlikely to break out in either case

Air conditioners...we don't have them here that much, gets down into the 50s most nights, even in August.  Now we DO have yahoos setting off fireworks at night from May-July, but that is because Laramie has a tech school here and the goobers need something do when they come off a long shift of learning pin-striping.
