Also despite his majesty's immunity, she doesn't have any more rights that other US citizens, so she can be investigated and face trial, before he can pardon her.
So if she's party to any crime, that could happen and of course she can be entirely innocent, but that some might see it as a way to get at trump?

Alternatively, she might just be a witness to possible criminality, which means she could face questioning in the near future and hence her getting ahead of the news with the 'press statement'?

It all comes back to the 80s-90s era New York modelling agencies and how they were used to provide "escorts" for wealthy men.

Melania was working with the modelling agency operated by Paolo Zampolli at the time she first met Trump.  Zampolli was close to Epstein - they invested in a modelling venture that never got off the ground, and he also backed one of Ghislaine's charities. Zampolli has remained close to the Trumps to this very day and got some BS diplomatic appointment from Trump.

Zampolli had another model in his stables not long after the Melania-Trump introduction - Amdanda Ungaro.  According to the Esptein files, Ungaro flew on Epstein's plane at age 17 along with Jean-Luc Brunel (Brunel was implicated in Epstein's crimes and committed suicide in 2022 while in custody)

Ungaro later married Zampolli. It appears that Ungaro was close with Melania during that marriage. Ungaro made front page news lately because she was divorced from Zampolli and there was a custody battle.  According to NYT reporting, Zampolli used his clout with Trump to get ICE to toss Ungaro into custody and then deport her. No more custody battle . . .

The day before Melania gave her bizarre speech, Ungaro posted some tweets on X directed to Melania's account, saying that she "had nothing left to lose", "I will tear down the system" claimed to have damaging information about her and Trump, etc.   The tweets have come down after the Melania speech . . .

The speech was striking for many reasons, but among them are the fact that although Melania has been connected to Epstein in many prior reports, I don't recall anyone ever alleging that Melania was either a victim of Epstein or a witness to his crimes, both of which she made a point of specifically denying.

Thus - it appears Ungaro may know information that Melania fears may be damaging to her and either doesn't want to get out or wants to get "in front of" before it inevitably comes out.
