Quote from: Norgy on April 10, 2026, 01:33:00 AMIn Trump's case you get a daily update on his thoughts or lack thereof. Today the headlines are how he was sidelined by Melania's Epstein press conference. Man, their relationship must be so warm and affectionate.

What was up with her bizarre speech?

The money she gets for being his wife is no longer sufficient?

In several surveys, the overwhelming first choice for what makes Canada unique is multiculturalism. This, in a world collapsing into stupid, impoverishing hatreds, is the distinctly Canadian national project.

Quote from: Norgy on April 10, 2026, 03:49:58 AMI am not their media advisor. But I would expect this is getting ahead of some shit that will hit some fan somewhere.

But all it appeared to do was draw more attention as I don't recall seeing much being said about Melania and Epstein.

That and wow, this is why they keep her hidden with Pizza hut style hats as her communication style is so cringe.

I drank because I wanted to drown my sorrows, but now the damned things have learned to swim.

Quote from: Norgy on April 09, 2026, 03:37:08 AMTrump did say "Maybe I should be Pope?", although jokingly at one press conference.

Can you imagine Reagan or Carter saying that? No? Thought so.

Nixon said that he would have made a good pope.  (If you consider Julius II a good pope, then I guess I could see that.)

Nixon certainly would not have been the worst pope.

The Vatican bank would've gone tits up from having the outlay of all that wiretapping equipment, though.

I don't do meditation.  I drink alcohol to relax, like normal people.

If Microsoft Excel decided to stop working overnight, the world would practically end.

If we ever get an analysis of radical right movement in the US, I think we'll find that rich South African white supremacists like Thiel and Musk had a strong influence in the turn towards destroying American democracy.

Tamas

Thiel is South African as well? God damn.

Baron von Schtinkenbutt

Not really.  He was born in Germany, and though his family lived in South Africa for a few years in the 70s he was mostly raised in the US.

The know your enemy podcast has had a few episodes making exactly that point.

@gronk, make me a French-ish, Nazi-ish monument, but make it tacky.

What exactly was our triumph?

Being lazy is bad; unless you still get what you want, then it's called "patience".
Hubris must be punished. Severely.

That we elected Trump, of course.
