I really like it.  A lot of hate was generated because of the initial game design. But all that was changed.  Unfortunately, too late to keep the player base.

In several surveys, the overwhelming first choice for what makes Canada unique is multiculturalism. This, in a world collapsing into stupid, impoverishing hatreds, is the distinctly Canadian national project.

Incidentally it's at 80% off on Gog.com at the moment if someone here hasn't got it, yes I know unlikely but still:

like a mix between EU and CK. It has pops, they migrate and change class, culture and religion. Not as extensive as Vicky, and not even as EU5 I'm lead to believe from what I see. There's characters that do things but your control over them isn't as detailed as CK.
There's rudimentary trade and city building. You can develop your legions, but especially if you're a tribe it's going to be levies. Leans heavily on mercinaries.
Research and cultural development/choices to make. Event trees too.

It's not a bad game but could have been so much more.

The main issue people had with Imperator, I think, was that it sort of lacked a goal for the player outside of playing the Roman Republic. It seemed a bit bland at first, but I admit I really enjoyed a few runs on later patches and with some DLC. There were not that many DLCs.

It was the second time Paradox tried its hand at Roman history. It is better than the first.

invictus add a number of goals to several countries iirc

Solmyr

Quite a lot actually, there are flavorful mission trees for even fairly minor countries.

Thanks to this thread i've played a bit of Imperator with the Invictus mod. i actually played a lot of the original (140 some odd hours). i really wanted to like it, but it was lacking. its a lot better now.
Being lazy is bad; unless you still get what you want, then it's called "patience".
Hubris must be punished. Severely.

Enjoying playing UnCiv, couldn't be arsed to fire up the pc with steam on it, so sandboxed about on it, I think it works on nearly anything?

So there are announcements of Total War: Warhammer 40K as well as a new Star Wars Old Republic game.

Syt

I'm strangely hyped for the Star Wars racing game they announced. I love Star Wars Episode I Racer.

With TW:WH40K it doesn't look like they include space battles, but my first thought was - Star Wars Total Conversion. :P

This new Divinity trailer from Larian is also pretty WTF. :D

I think besides Jakku I spotted Ando Prime (Tibet style ice world) and Malastare?

The Minsky Moment

Larian dropped like 3 DLCs worth of content on BG3 and charged nothing for it.  They also made a Linux native build specifically to optimize performance on steam deck. Whatever weird ass wicker man thing they are making, I'm buying.
We have, accordingly, always had plenty of excellent lawyers, though we often had to do without even tolerable administrators, and seen destined to endure the inconvenience of hereafter doing without any constructive statesmen at all.

Grey Fox

Even if it's a 3rd/first person rpg like the Divinity series before Original Sin?
Getting ready to make IEDs against American Occupation Forces.

"But I didn't vote for him"; they cried.
