How does Imperator play?

I really like it.  A lot of hate was generated because of the initial game design. But all that was changed.  Unfortunately, too late to keep the player base.

How does Imperator play?

like a mix between EU and CK. It has pops, they migrate and change class, culture and religion. Not as extensive as Vicky, and not even as EU5 I'm lead to believe from what I see. There's characters that do things but your control over them isn't as detailed as CK.
There's rudimentary trade and city building. You can develop your legions, but especially if you're a tribe it's going to be levies. Leans heavily on mercinaries.
Research and cultural development/choices to make. Event trees too.

It's not a bad game but could have been so much more.
