And understandable...from my experience recently in watching oversight committees, it is often experts  or clowns being poorly questioned by grandstanding human fossils...and clowns.

See also the number of people who refer to "PlayStation" as a company, rather than a product of Sony.  Hell, Research In Motion finally just changed their legal name to Blackberry because so many people called the company that.  Valve is kinda getting into a similar place with Steam, because it's been a long time since Valve did anything notable that wasn't Steam-related.

Yeah to be honest I thought Steam and Blackberry were companies
Let's bomb Russia!

Its a normal thing to think, imo. Now, why does Jeff Bezos doesn't get called out for Twitch? Ultimately he's the actual CEO.
Getting ready to make IEDs against American Occupation Forces.

"But I didn't vote for him"; they cried.

Perhaps but you are not the one sending subpoenas out.
We have, accordingly, always had plenty of excellent lawyers, though we often had to do without even tolerable administrators, and seen destined to endure the inconvenience of hereafter doing without any constructive statesmen at all.

I initially thought about that as well (and of making a comparison to Valve/Steam confusion being akin to confusing Google/Alphabet or Facebook/Meta), but doing some quick research, Twitch (and Google/Facebook) are subsidiary companies with their own CEOs.

Steam is not, but I see your point (from a "chain of command" perspective).

Jimmy Kimmel has been suspended from ABC after threats from the FCC to remove their license if they didn't act.
I don't do meditation.  I drink alcohol to relax, like normal people.

If Microsoft Excel decided to stop working overnight, the world would practically end.

I thought that the "GOPOversight" tweak was a parody. Is there evidence that that was actually House Republicans who sent it?

That's how free speech works in the US now.  You are absolutely free to say anything that the Chairman of the FCC approves of.

Apparently Sinclair Media stations (the nation's largest ABC provider) will be airing an hour long Charlie Kirk tribute during the former Kimmel Show slot.  :yuk:

They made the mistake of allowing Colbert some runway at the end. They weren't going to make that mistake again.

In several surveys, the overwhelming first choice for what makes Canada unique is multiculturalism. This, in a world collapsing into stupid, impoverishing hatreds, is the distinctly Canadian national project.

Sounds like the above image has a little more hyperbole than the reality...the letters read like invitations, not subpoenas.

I, for one, am shocked that major corporate owned media companies are serving their own interests rather than that of the public.

The Minsky Moment

Once again celebrating the memory of Free Speech Charlie by suppressing expression.

For Guller & Co. - this is what real cancel culture actually looks like, with the full power and might of the federal government behind it. Real, literal cancellation.
