I saw one that came with an app that basically nags you to drink more water :D

I tried the app plant nanny once for that. It had me drink way too much water. But it did have lasting effect of getting my overall water consumption up long term.

That's a good way to get water intoxication   :P

QuotePeople high in psychopathy and low in cognitive ability are the most politically active online, study finds

People with certain dark personality traits may be especially drawn to online political participation — particularly if they also experience fear of missing out (FoMO) and have lower cognitive ability. A new cross-national study published in Humanities and Social Sciences Communications examined how several traits interact to predict digital political engagement across eight countries. The observed patterns suggest that emotion-driven traits, rather than deliberative thinking, may play a key role in motivating online political behavior.

I went to London yesterday.
I had thought Newcastle had caught up.
Nope.
£7 a pint.
Freaking hell.

I recall when Bere, Marti and I went out for drinks and gasped out our £11 g&ts. Though not to the extent that it forestall us having 3 rounds before seeking a cheaper venue.

Now that feels quaint in many ways.

Lots of targets, which seems counterintuitive

Yeah the Allies mysteriously chose roundels, which look like targets, back in WW1. No wonder the Red Baron shot down so many Allied planes. Though the German Iron Cross also kind of looks like crosshairs.

The Portuguese one looks like the symbol for the 1930s Austrian fascist Fatherland Front. That's weird.

I feel like Croatia has to be salty about Poland beating them to the white and red checkerboard look.

Originally was the symbols for the order of christ (remnant of the Templar's IIRC). Became a generic military and naval symbol. Guess it survives in the airforce.

I was curious if either Austria or Hungary's also comes from WW1 like Italy, Britain, France, and Germany's but the Imperial and Royal Aviation Troops for Austria-Hungary also had an Iron Cross, which is weird. I thought that was almost entirely a Prussian thing.

The Imperial Russian Air Service used this one:

Which I guess it just doesn't have the prestige of the Red Air Force.

Interesting.
Why did Austria use the iron Cross?
And does the use of roundels actually aid targeting? (I suspect not as they're so small, but I wonder if there's been a study showing a small blip)

I always found roundels confusing.  Sometimes the plane is camouflaged, but they still put colorful symbols on it?
I've given it serious thought. I must scorn the ways of my family, and seek a Japanese woman to yield me my progeny. He shall live in the lands of the east, and be well tutored in his sacred trust to weave the best traditions of Japan and the Sacred South together, until such time as he (or, indeed his house, which will periodically require infusion of both Southern and Japanese bloodlines of note) can deliver to the South it's independence, either in this world or in space.  -Lettow April of 2011
