Disagree. But even to the extent it isn't it isn't the boom town it once was. And I am not sure it is a land of opportunity for some young English kid looking for a better life away from Blighty.

My plan remains to move at some point. But it's hard with a family in tow.

Well don't come here

Japan and Korea seem to be in decline. The poorer countries maybe less so, but they're also starting from a lower point.

Oh yeah - I'm not saying it's a land of opportunity for Brits or anyone else for that matter.
Let's bomb Russia!

Much of Europe is in a better state than the UK.
Yeah it's harder to get a job and salaries often don't look so great....
But shit works. Your taxes actually do something.

In terms of land of opportunity... Poland is set to take over the UK by the end of the decade in terms of the wealth of its people.
Many places are already there.

France?  Belgium? Luxemburg? Switzerland has pretty tight immigration laws but doable for you I guess.

I mean they let azoreans on the mainland, so proper use of the language can't be a huge requirement

Yes it is.
Even reaching Brasuca-light level, much worse than your Anglo-Canadian-Azorean pidgin would be quite an impossible achievement. :P

Anglo Canadian Lisboeta :contract: although admittedly with outdated slang.

Lisboete is pretty bad as well, unarticulated and guttural. :yucky:

:secret: Para mim, not para eu (it's pretoguês would say some not so PC people). :P
It's not that you know the northern dialects anyways, much less the sociolects. :P Not even your very own idiolect probably.

The average moorish or gypsy calão, not doing much if anything, on the other hand, yes probably.

Nope, that's Lisboetes, precisely. :P And the Russian sounding canard is only believed by semi-illiterates, anyways. Russian with nasal vowels or diphtongs? Even a Moor like you should know better. :D

So is this new uk eu deal good or bad?  Popular or unpopular ?  I never understood brexit to begin with so I can't imagine more free trade and market access would ever be a bad thing.
