Today I learned....

This is the term for this umbrella grouping.
Previously I'd heard the term gypsy was a bit weird and offensive to use but the explanation in this makes sense.
Gypsy = Romani origin people who've been in the UK for centuries.
Roma = more recent Romani immigrant who take offense at the term gypsy as its a slur back home.

So the Hungarian context to this is that Roma was introduced in the 90s due to the whole gypsy ("cigany") is a racial slur thing. It has never gotten past the "use roma in polite/formal conversations" stage among the general populace in my experience.

It was rather relaxed in Granada too. Big props to the Spanish for not freaking out or rioting. Everybody just got a beer and chilled.

Where the whale was is actually pretty shallow. Whales come in because the Orcas generally stay in the deeper water.  But even they come into the outer harbour once in a while

Has anyone ever been to Panama?
Looking at a few days there next month.
Quite paranoid about it as I don't travel much lately and Latin America has that reputation.

I guess the canal is the thing to see. Wondering on paying the $200 or whatever high price it is for a boat ride just trying to get there myself and hiking over the bridge of the americas...
I won't be driving of course.
