Isn't this also counter to a recent Supreme Court ruling where they argued that this is their remit, not the agencies'?

No it doesn't challenge the Court's authority, at least directly. It's an attack on the rule-making authority of quasi-independent agencies like the SEC and the FTC.

Notable among these agencies are also the FCC and FEC.  So this could be a vehicle to muzzle the media and fix elections.

Will they not stop the Russian agents, who absolutely certainly have infiltrated Musk's little team of incel nerds, gaining full access to their financial records?

This is turning far more mad far more quickly than I thought it would.

Meanwhile it seems Musk is now attached to Trump at the hip.
