So their great plan is to mostly have unfunded tax cuts bar 12%?

Fiscal conservatism? :hmm:  :P

Just because it didn't work the last 3 times doesn't mean it won't work this time.

Combined with the Medicaid cuts and requirements that recipients will now need to be at work to benefit from it, it will truly make American Great Again.

No more freeriders!
I don't do meditation.  I drink alcohol to relax, like normal people.

If Microsoft Excel decided to stop working overnight, the world would practically end.

This surprises you?
Posts here are my own private opinions.  I do not speak for my employer.

Yeah. Elon could cut everything to the bone and the deficit and debt will still skyrocket.

And then blame "out of control spending" for it. Claim that economic growth will cover the deficit and then preside over an economic collapse. Let's do it again.

The Minsky Moment

The plan is awful that is no surprise.

But the biggest issue remains the existence of the statutory debt ceiling. We can't continue to have a situation where every time there is a budget standoff, we risk not only a domestic government shutdown but an international default on sovereign debt.
The purpose of studying economics is not to acquire a set of ready-made answers to economic questions, but to learn how to avoid being deceived by economists.

Why even have a debt ceiling? You just go through this charade every time. Might as well make it a ceremony with gongs and people in funny hats.

Hubris must be punished. Severely.

But I'm also feeling deja vu as I think we had also proposed the same for ceremonial around Brexit?

Probably :D

Being raised catholic and coming from a parliamentary system I'm partial to pomp and ceremony

And RFKjr has now been confirmed as health secretary.

Reading Trump's comments on tariffs I am quite sure he still doesn't understand that those are paid by Americans when purchasing the given foreign good.

After the SecDef, it looks like all the votes are going by party-line -1 (Mitch McConnell).

Glad to see the Democrats not being entire punks.

Ultimately I am not sure it matters who gets into these positions...as it will almost always end up being a yes-man of some flavor, as the appointment will always come from the same source.  The more colorful they are, perhaps the more likely they will self-destruct in a glorious way.

For intelligence and Health I think it does matter.  Those two have agendas independent of Trump.
