People seem to be mostly ignoring this but reactions I can find seem good.

I'll find time for it during the holidays.

Cinematography is parsecs ahead of the acolyte. The child actors seem good too. Wonder what the budget is. As for the story itself, might be a bit too young for me. But I'll give it a few more episodes.

Although along the lines of the acolyte not knowing how fire works, I don't know how a ship infiltrated by plant roots is space worthy.

Enjoyed the new episode, though the design for the character of Kim seemed a bit much at first, even for Star Wars. :P Liked the Alfred Molina (voice) cameo, after just having seen his first movie appearance as Satipo in Raiders of the Lost Arc recreated for the Indiana Jones video game (with a different voice actor). :P

Glad they don't drag out some obvious "mysteries" or "twists". However, I agree with what several critics have mentioned - it feels less like episodes, and more like a long movie cut into pieces (which is, unfortunately, many streaming shows these days). It's less of a problem when all episodes drop at the same time, but if there's a week between releases then it sucks. It was an issue with previous shows like Acolyte or Ahsoka, too, and no doubt contributes to the widely uneven runtime of episodes on those shows. Weirdly, it's often animated shows like Lower Decks and Bad Batch who handle the episodic format better while still having the big story arcs. And especially a show like Skeleton Crew would have lent itself to a "proper" episodic format with a planet/clue of the week thing, I believe.

If you don't feel the need to watch now or aren't afraid of spoilers, I would recommend waiting until the last episode is there and watch it in one to three sittings instead, IMHO.
I am, somehow, less interested in the weight and convolutions of Einstein's brain than in the near certainty that people of equal talent have lived and died in cotton fields and sweatshops.

I have, and Ep. 4 was IMHO the best of the bunch so far.

To elaborate - it's very nostalgic, but rather in callbacks to 80s adventure movies and tropes, less in cramming in cameos of established characters or settings. You could (so far) IMO easily rebrand this as another non-Star Wars take on Treasure Island in Space. They have a decently interesting mystery going on so far, Jude Law is fun to watch (when he finally joins after almost 2 episodes ... ), the visuals and effects are great, and the child actors are also very good.

It's kinda what I wanted as a kid in the 80s who loved Goonies and Neverending Story and Indiana Jones out of a new kid-centric Star Wars adventure (and then we got the Ewok movies instead :P ).

Episode 3 was a bit trippy - I was reminded a bit of Neverending Story, others said Dark Crystal. :D Episode 4 was a bit more serious, and reminded me of some Star Trek episodes. Also: Mathieu Kassovitz :P

Edit: it does have a very "The real treasure is the friends we made along the way" vibe, though :D

Loved the new episode.

Spoilers?

That was a bit of a mood whiplash. :D Started as comedic and silly but got surprisingly dark/intense in the end?

The kid actors are still great, and Jude Law is perfect in this role.

Still 3 episodes to go, but so far it's up there with S1 of Mando for me (though not as good as Andor). And the show just looks gorgeous.

Caught up over the holidays. Enjoyed the episodes, except the last was bit weak. Kids had been great, too, but last episode was a bit much for them to carry. Also not enough 33 :D

Show continues to be great. Really looking forward to the finale next week. :)

Also, Rory McCann, aka Sandor Clegane, will be taking over the role of Balan Skoll in Ahsoka S2 (RIP Ray Stevenson :weep: ).

Final episode of Skeleton Crew. No huge surprises, but satisfying nevertheless. :)

I had wished for a bit more of a denouement (end felt a bit sudden), but overall really enjoyed the show. It was truly an homage to 80s kids movies like Goonies, E.T., Explorers, Flight of the Navigator, with dashes of Neverending Story, Labyrinth or Last Starfighter.

It also left some unanswered questions for fans to speculate about. I really liked the last shot of Jod, with a twinkle in his eye already thinking up his next scheme. Jude Law was killing it in this show, as did the kid actors.

The show did what plenty people (including me) have moaned about - expanding the galaxy instead of returning time and again to the same characters. The only previously shown characters was a pirate side character who was on Mando Season 3. Otherwise it's all new locations, characters etc. The show looked overall gorgeous, with plenty cool visual moments and some new aliens (quite a few stop motion animated aliens from Phil Tippet's creature workshop, like the giant crab in the 6th episode).

Had a random shower thought, because I noticed it in some YouTube comments - there's a whole generation by now who know the Original Trilogy only as Special Edition (and later blu ray and Disney channel editions). The SE came out 20 years after the premiere of the first movie. We're now 28 years after the release of the SE. :D So it's been around significantly longer than the originals. :P

(The SE is a bit of a mixed bag for me - some changes are good or even great, some ... much less so. My biggest disappointment is the changes to Vader returning to his ship in ESB which was much more tense in original: "Bring my shuttle" and the music number in Jabba's palace. Favorite changes are revamp of Cloud City interiors with more windows, and the Mos Eisley city street rework in general)

It liked the series overall, save for that one episode that was kid heavy I mentioned.  I did think Whim would go Jedi in one of the scenes of the final though :D

I liked that they kept it somewhat reasonable. :P (Though I was kind of worried he'd ignite the saber, and that together with Jod's force pull ... you know ... )

I was also annoyed at the parents, but had been for a bit. I get it, they're your kids, but you're dooming your planet for 4 people. Cross universe, but Spock would not approve :D

But I guess sacrificing children for the greater good isn't the most appealing kids show   ;)

Well, the parents were born and raised in this super-confirmist environment and to trust the supervisor. It takes A LOT to push them out of their comfort zone (losing their kids) and then figuring out what to do without supervisor. I liked how they were shown comically inept in their attempts at subterfuge in previous episodes and may have decided that it's futile. :D

(Btw, Neel in his bubble bath had me in stitches laughing - of course it's the first thing he does after coming home   )
