I've seen a couple of articles referencing Pierre's plans for porn sites recently (requiring users to add ID verification to access adult sites).

That raises a lot of concerns and many (every) Canadian should be concerned about that.  It might be a boon to the magazine industry though.

If parents want to give their kids access to pornhub they can definitely do so.

My joke was that people would turn to magazines for their porn once again, but yeah ID is required to purchase them anyways.

Although I certainly found an abnormal amount of boxes of old porno mags in the woods way back when... and it felt like a majority of parents had some stashed away in closets or boxes, always easily obtained.

What I found was the top SIX stories were all about trans issues.  'Poilievre backs banning trans women from female sports, bathrooms and change rooms".  A video of someone saying Poilievre "champions hateful policies".  An analysis of Poilievre's views.  A story about Alberta's policies.  And finally a CBC "explainer" about Canada's trans policies for kids.

This is what I'm talking about when I say the CBC is biased.  This was a story worth reporting on (indeed I already commented on it) but hardly worth this kind of coverage.

Her speech was a paid for advertisement on CTV.  I think the CBC will give it some coverage, but maybe not immediately after her commercial aired.

From your description, only one of six stories are negative - and that sounds like an opinion piece.

That's not a sign a bias. It's a sign of being afraid of PPs rethoric towards defunding them and over course correcting.

They over talk about conservative issues and yet it doesn't serve them.

On RC, which isn't threaten by PP, there were no story on this yesterday and still non today.

No story about Danielle Smith either.

Yeah, if the Canadian Conservatives even remotely follow the right in the UK and US they'll know this identity politics wedge of kicking trans people is a big winner for them and a way to distract from any negative press about actual policies that impact 99% of people.

I clicked on the link, the first three were about the troubles the Liberals were having, the fourth was about your Premier's speech.

I suspect you did not see it because it was not yet post.

Perhaps the bias is assuming, as the right wing in this country does, that the CBC is biased.

So these news sites frequently change the stories they list - they do want you to come back frequently after all.  That's why I typed out the six news articles headlines - because I knew they might change.  And indeed going back to the main CBC news site I don't see any of the Poilievre trans stuff - not at the top at least (I'm sure they're still there somewhere).

The bias comes not so much in the reporting itself (though you can see hints of it) - but rather in the choices of what to cover and in how much to cover it.

The Danielle Smith story was there last night - it was just under all the trans stuff.
