Thanks for that Josq.

Not something I've ever thought about, but the commonality of too fast, badly driven black hatchback is a fact on roads hereabouts.

Yeah I've noticed that. I think a lot of it has to do with company lease plans. I colleague of mine wanted a yellow car, even though it cheaper than the models he was eligible for, the company wouldn't let him. Apparently a car that is not grey, black or blue is unprofessional.

Yes that sounds like a very plausible reason, and in the UK at least that reasoning may also extend into the private lease back PCPs that are very popular here.

Incidentally I wonder what car colours other languishites have owned over the years?

Mine are I think these, not that I ever paid much attention:

Tan
White
Red
Faded Yellow
Yellow
Brown
Navy Blue + red bonnet + one different door
Orange
Brit Racing Green
Light Blue ?
Gold ?

Black and silver. Not gonna entertain any other colours with the possible exception of gray.

It is telling that people missing clown-colour cars have no cars of their own. :p

Zing!

I like blue too, but then again I dont drive so Tamas' point stands :D

I thinkkkkk my first car was a red.
My current/old one is a light turquoise.
My new one is a sort of dark turquoise blue.

Thereby confirming that car ownership makes you drab and sad.

Car colours: red, white, blue.

I'm definitely up for different colours if/ when I buy another vehicle.

I've given it serious thought. I must scorn the ways of my family, and seek a Japanese woman to yield me my progeny. He shall live in the lands of the east, and be well tutored in his sacred trust to weave the best traditions of Japan and the Sacred South together, until such time as he (or, indeed his house, which will periodically require infusion of both Southern and Japanese bloodlines of note) can deliver to the South it's independence, either in this world or in space.  -Lettow April of 2011

We had a red one, then we got a bright green/turqoise one, and now we have a bright blue car. Makes them easier to spot amongst all the grey cars when you've forgotten where you left it.
